Thousands of scheme workers including Anganwadi workers, ASHA- USHA workers and Mid Day Meal workers participated in a demonstration held on 13 October 2014 at Shahjani Park, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh and submitted a memorandum to the WCD minister. Their main demands were to stop privatization of ICDS, Minimum wages, pension and gratuity for scheme workers.
Hemalata, Secretary, CITU addressed the public meeting held at Shahjani Park. She explained government policies towards about one crore scheme workers in the country. She explained how the government is not giving them their rights.
Pramod Pradhan, general secretary of MP state committee of CITU and other leaders also addressed the meeting.
